Carbon Fibre Restoration

  Racing Blue 182
Hi all,

I have recently bought a Carbon Fibre Splitter from Ed from this thread: http://www.cliosport.net/forum/show...-Matts-Touch-up-pen&highlight=carbon+splitter

What is the best way to go about restoring this back to what it was like? I understand it'll never be like new again, but shirley theres a way of getting rid of some of the scrapes etc to make it nice again? I wouldn't even know where to start!

Any help will be brilliant!

Thanks for looking.

Id superglue the crack. And then go over the whole thing with wet and dry paper.

Polish it up. Clean and re-laquer.

Mjne needs this doing too

Fibreglass one even carbon fibre matting on the back then some serious wet an dry time and re-lacquer. In all honesty, it will look sh!t again within a month as lacquer isn't particularly hard wearing and it's so low to the ground.

I had my old CSL splitters redone and they looked poo in no time.

Fiberglass the back, and for the front try and find some 'clear resin' or 'surfboard resin' thats what I remember it as from when I attempted some carbon pieces.

Paint it on, let it set, sand it back rough>smooth grades of sandpaper then polish.
