Carbon Wrap Ghey?

The bonnet on my 106 is going a little pink due to age etc etc.

I was thinking of getting the bonnet and roof wrapped in carbon film but am concerned as its obviously not the 'real deal' (carbon bonnets for S1 are £500 ish) The roof is already black as a non sun roof roof was installed by the previous owner.

My other thought was to do it matt black but this is going to obviously upset the rallye purists!

Here is a pic of the car as it stands now - if anyone can shop the bonnet black feel free to do so. Car will have white steels on as well shortly.....

Any opinions always appreciated.

Hehe it was a Celica ST182 guys :)

To the OP if it is just oxidation in the paint, it can be polished out, however you will need to use a UV filter based sealant afterwards to prevent the fade from returning, in some cases you may even need to get the bonnet re-laquered to ensure the fade never returning (at least for a number of years). May sound silly but if you grab some SRP and a microfibre cloth and give it a good hard rub you will notice the fade go, it will of course take a layer off your paint so you will need to eventually respray or re-laquer it.

Would be best to use a DA polisher though :) I used a Menerza 6" and 4" spot pads (compunding pad) with Menerza 203S (Power Finish).

If you need anymore advice give me a shout :)

Fibreglass bonnets for the S1's are cheap as chips, and I believe you can get a gel coat in black. Saying that, white FB bonnet with white steels- sex.

Also, you can most likely bring that back with a rotary and a morning's work..

My XSi was pretty faded. A quick once over and this:

Easy enough to do, I'm sure someone local will run over it with the rotary, will take no more than 30-45 minutes to get it back to red, obviously a little longer if you want it to be perfect

That's a minor transformation too. Should have seen the 928 Brazo did, it was practically white it was so heavily oxidized.
