carbone Lorraine Fail

I will let the pics do the talking :eek::eek:

and the batch numbers on back ect

these have done 2 track days and then went for a blast along the evo triangle on saturday, felt the car was not breaking correctly , so calmed down, drove home changed all the pads over and whilst pulling the CL's out they just fell apart :dead::dead:

V.dissapointed they are supposed to be a top brand race/track pad are they not? and to come away from the backing is just seriously dangerous

needless to say these are getting sent back to CL HQ with a massive amount of words as this seems not to be an isolated incident as happened to brown bear on here also

got them on yours?.......check them, check them now!!

that is all

I'd say they did very well at breaking correctly.

Still that does look shocking for quite an expesnive pad.

not good. which compound are they, and how old?

got to take mine out soon to fiddle with the shims. as said; £120, you don't expect this sort of thing

good luck with CL

thats not good, i have been through 4 sets of cl pads with no problems.
hopefully this is an isolated incident as the last thing you need is your pads falling apart when your braking hard for a corner on track.
will be checking the condition of mine just to be sure now.

Well it's clearly not isolated! Happened to both sides on mine.

Did you get any kind of response from CL?

I didn't see the point fella. I wouldn't ever fit them again. Suppliers attitude was that I should send them back to cl. At work I honour the products I sell, I don't expect paying customers to do the leg work in the event of a failure.
So just put it down to experience. Should of listened to fred in the 1st place!!

definitely worth contacting CL/supplier - may be there has been a bad batch as someone suggested when BrownBear's were posted on here

I know what you mean, you expect the supplier to do something for their profit.
At best it would have been a new set of pads you didn't want to use anyway....

Where did you send them fella? Fred still has mine, so no harm in sending them if it helps your case and improve the product.

Just went to swap my Carbon Lorraine pads from my old clio to my new car and guess what, one of the pads came apart exactly the same as pic 2! Can any one confirm if the new Carbon Lorraine Pads also suffer from this?
