Carpet!

Thinking of stipping out the RSI

Does anyone know where I can get hold of some carpet? Preferably for free? Ideally something that matches the colour of my current interior?

My parents have some spare carpet in the attic, but iirc its beige in colour so not exactly the dark blue im after

Get an offcut from a carpet shop ?? Or try a car stereo place, that might not be that cheap though.

^carpet shop is a good shout. Do they give offcuts as 'samples' as I'd imagine I need 2m x 1.5m or something... Will i need to pretend im interested in doing my house etc?

Another questions... Has anyone considered using balsa wood to support the carpet?

Does anyone know what the name of the card/thin wood on the back of the original boot carpet is called?

You want a sheet of hardboard.

Its lighter than wood but stronger than cardboard.
