It ran with the plugs in though, if they were the wrong plugs then it wouldn't run would it?

it will run fine, but you should ALWAYS use the NGK plugs, there is a tech note saying to use NGK only and ignition faults can be related to wrong plugs

so i'll go for the correct plugs and hope fully this will sort it. Its a shame i cant take the other plugs back now as ive put them in the car and started it

yeah its similar, but it sounds more like that when its under load. Will try the new coil and HT leads and then post a vid if it doesnt work then

Can you not borrow a MAP sensor from someone local with a 1*2 to check it before throwing £££'s at the car?

the coil pack and HT leads have arrived, just going to stick them on and see what happens now

fingers, toes, hands, feet, legs and eyes are all crossed lol

you could do with taking it to a specialist and getting it diagnosed/fixed properly, as i said before there's only so much we can advise on here

Ok so the MAP Sensor is fine.

Got the sensor thanks Darren.

Went Renault this morning and they told me that the front lambda sensor was faulty so they replaced that. they then found that the front of the cat had broken up due to the faulty sensor and meaning that the engine was dumping fuel onto the cat.
So replacing the cat now an then that should be it.
