Catch up with the 172

Don't think I've popped any shots up of this in its own thread so thought I'd catch up

Firstly a few weeks after I got it, only thing I'd done is popped the civic aerial on.

Then set about to Renault and spent some wedge! Clear repeaters, splitter (oh god the pain of the £££) and anal things like a new packet of airbag warning stickers and sunvisor stickers!

Now the alloys don't look too bad but honestly the front ones were dead, I ended up buying 2 spares off ebay to swap for these!

After engine troubles (!) I could finally get back on track, Yesterday I went to The Wheel Specialist in Leeds to take advantage of the CS discount - asked as to what colour I wanted I replied as in your face as possible

So on went the metallic silver that the Focus ST's have...

Its really nice in the flesh - doesn't show up too well in the photos but here goes...

I then set about putting the spare back in, I had this done too and didn't want it scratching so I popped out to get a £4 camping mat and started chopping it up.

Finally until I order some new ones from renault to take to get powder coaters I painted the tops of the sill bolts with a bit of hammerite - will look much better when its all done.

And to prove it does have a passenger side!

Thats it! So glad I chose to stick with the standard 5 spokes!

Tomorrow off come the wheels and out comes the silver caliper paint

Loving it now - Only thing I want to do is get a cup spoiler - next doors 182 has one and it stares at me goading me lol.

As in engine explosion lol - Before I bought it the garage had put new belts on due to age (cars only on 34k)

Well they basically didn't do it properly and 400 miles later it smashed a piston and wrote off the block.

After lots of arguing its fixed finally, Cost lots to do but cost me £600, not bothered though as its got fresh belts again, new water pump, brand new renault clutch and brand new renault engine mounts - will save me in the long run.

Nice plans mate, i have the same. Just getting my cup spoiler painted at work. A New wrap of toyo proxies is happening right now. And then clean them up to your silly standard of cleanlyness. They are super clean.

Tell you what... peeps here always changing their wheels and asking what's best... black/white/green/luminous whatever... but I really don't dislike the standard wheels. It would be good to get them matching iceberg though. Is that a feasible project?

Crackin job on the Wheels. I want to laptab a few years ago and the Silver was flat as fook!! Really like that!!!
