Catching after lowering

  A3 2.0TFSI QUATTRO
Since ive put my sportlines on my front right tyre catches on left lock and hitting bumps in the road i thought it was the arch liner so i cut off the flap that covers the bumper fixing because you could see were it had been catching but it still hits the metal plate that the bumper bolts too

Is there a cure/modification to this or will i have to keep it like this ???

Would it blow the tyre if i hit a larger bump on a motorway

Cheers daZ

  Whichever has fuel
What size wheels have you got on it?

Sportlines hardly lower the car at all, it shou#dn't be catching anywhere. Shouldn't even come close tbh!

Standard 16's with 45 profile tyres it has lowered it quite a bit its only on drivers side so im thinking shocker

Jack it up, and see wether the spring comes loose or not. Shouldn't be able to move it up or down.

Both side look to be same height by eye but not measured

Ill jack it up and have a wiggle of the springs when im off next cheers

might be the drivers side just cause the driver is in it, try with a passenger in the front too and see if both sides do it,

mine is down on coilys and scraped like hell when i first bought it (also on 17's) raised it up a bit and its normally ok, just occasional catch on the bumper mount which il be sorting at some point with a grinder lol, i read somewhere that someone had just wacked the mounts a few times with a hammer and that sorted it for them, but the wings are plastic so be careful if you try that

they dont usually rub from just springs i have to say. I've had to bend the bracket you mentioned before to stop things catching when coilovers have been fitted and set low.

ah im on coilovers too so might be something else? you can usually see whats rubbing once the wheel is off but if its very definately one side broken spring would be my guess

The spring aint been on that long and i cleaned them up before i put them on and they looked fine

try with a passenger then, if its the same get the mount modded, if not have a good look at the spring, failing that? garage lol

Lol ill try passenger 1st then check spring and shocker if i cant see anything ill take it to a garage before i modd the mount

I still had a massive arch gap when running sportlines, only got issues with the bumper bracket when I fitted coilys and wound them right down
