Air conditioning and Climate control are these the same:S

Ive heard people saying AC and CC but always wanderd whats the difference if any or are they the same.

Does a 182 FF have both?

Thanks

Air conditioning is basically refridgerated air that gets put into your air stream through the normal air/heater/blowers

Climate control is when the car automatically adjusts the mixture of hot/cold air (and air con) to the preset temperature.

So, CC is better, but AC is still nice.

no idea about the 182 though

They both achieve the same thing.

The only differece as Mike has said is that you set a temperature with Climate Control and that decides whether air con is needed to reach the desired temperature. You can also use it manually.

A/C is the same only you use the dials to set the temperature and wether you want A/C or just the blower on.

The FF 182 has full climate control.

Personally I never used to like it as it often used to switch the A/C on when I didn't think there was a need, so it used more fuel and killed performance.

The A/C in my Trophy is like adding two 15 stone passengers, it totally kills the car. lol

Wondered why my car felt sluggish yesterday, despite running nice and light almost on petrol fumes, yeap switched the a/c off and all was fine!

WTF you must have?! - like the Trophy guy said, it completely murders performance. The only good thing about is driving a long way with it on, then switching it off, it's like yeeeee-haaaawww!

Seriously? Do people really notice a big difference!?! I never do, and just flick it on or off whenever...

huge difference with air con on easily robs a good few brake and makes the car real sluggish, makes it rougher at idle and lower revs too.

i have it on a lot just now due to the weather but not normally, really makes a big difference IMO and cant see how people dont notice it.

Try letting your car pull itself along in first or second gear, with no throttle, just tickover/idle.

Then click the aircon on...it's like dragging the brakes. My old 306 would almost stop/stall when doing that before the ECU compensated for the extra load.

Definitely takes the edge off.

yeah even just pulling away on a hill start you'll need to give it more revs with the air con on.

Can't say I've noticed a difference in my 172 with CC on. But the 1.2 Modus I had a courtesy car earlier in the week was a nightmare: turn on the a/c and you could really notice the difference. I suppose when you've got less BHP to start off with it really makes a difference.

i never found a difference either non of its as good as driving with the roof down tho keeping cool and sunbathing at the same time hehe

It's never been that noticable in my previous cars but in the Trophy it really is obvious. I have to pile the revs on for a speedy getaway or it just dies.

You both know that's rubbish. When I test drove the Elise last week I had the roof off for part of the drive and was still sweating my tits off. If it's hot outside taking the roof off makes next to no difference. lol

Mines got both afaik.

Means can set the temp, hit auto and it will adjust for me, or I can turn the temp off then set the blower to whatever I like, works awesomely :)

Doesn't drink that much fuel at all with it on 2/3 fan icons, I think anything higher than that would make bit of a different [I think mines out of 8 or 9?]

Cheers,

Pete.

^^ pmsl... try having black leather seats... I burnt my arse sitting on them after leaving them in the sun.

So how is the elise hunting going Lee???

Wet dog??? I cant stop mine smelling of sea water... after a rash moment of taking it on the beach with the roof off and getting the whole inside covered in sand.... the doughnets and sideways stuff was good fun.
