CD/Radio surround removal..

Does anybody know how the plastic surround for the CD player/radio in a ph1 172 comes off? I would like to take it off for painting, but can't get it off.

Screwed and plastic welded in from behind. Dash out job im afraid

Get it out, I did mine. Looks so much better not all peeling and with that strange coating they put on

I've always wanted to do this but dash out just for that seems so unjustified!!!! If you get it out, take pics of the process so i can weigh up whether its worth it
