Centre Consol Removal

Hi. Anyone know how to remove the centre consol on a 172, the part with the ciggie lighter and ashtray in it, and fits over the gear lever.. Mine has come loose and is annoying as hell.

It all unclips IIRC, ashtray section out, gently pull at the cupholder part of it that the lighter fits into then disconnect the wire on the back. Unclip the gearshift gator then gently pulling at the centre console unit it should unclip and lift off.

What i did to secure it was take the section out where the drinks holders/cashtray are and you'll see 3 small slots where the drinks holder slots into. I put a cable tie through the center hole onto the frame behind it and did it up tight. Put your drinks holder back in, sorted!
Make sure you line the clips up on the NS and OS of the main console first otherwise they will be sticking out and you will have to re do the whole lot
