it misfires all the time. Started off intermittent, bt nw its really bad when cold, its not even drivable, no power and dippin revs
When it warms up it is drivable but stil misfiring. And yes correct plugs. I also popd my old plugs bk in as i fort they may be incorect, but its stil same.
i hate daventry! lol i have no mechanic contacts..
i might just drive back to leeds and get my mate to check it..or can anyone recommend a garage to check compression on the car in daventry? also price?
and if its a burnt valve, is it a new engine? and can the car breakdown altogether?
i noticed when warm it doesnt idle well making parking really hard as the revs dip right down to stall but then pop back up, u just gotta give more gas when parking.
also price for a new engine?
and also is there anything i an do to check for burnt valve? it misfires more at low revs to me..
p.s. some lad at work fort i had a turbo conversion haha just incorrectly mapped..tit
with the engine running disconnect the pencil coils one at a time and see which one doesnt make a difference. thats the one thats mis-firing, try putting an old coil on that one as a few have been dodgy from the factory.
After my coild died cause the car had intermittantly been running on 3 cylinders. After changing the coilpack it was still not right. It had killed the CAT - change dthe CAT and it was all good.
Yes, if you drive high load and have misfire, your ceramic monolith may melt due to the high temperatures that are caused by the exotherm reaction inside the catalyst...result is a much higher back-pressure...
