changed brake fluid today and rear brakes doing nothing

  Focus rs, Audi, Clio
hi i have changed all my brake fluid today and put castrol super response in. Whilst the car was in the air i decided to hold the brake pedal down and try and turn the rear wheels the wheels spun freely except when i pushed the compensator valve up by hand. (no spring fitted) i have heard they dont have these fitted as its a cup but the brakes do literally nothing at all and the brakes are completely useless. can i fit the valve off a normall 172? cheers

If it was in the air with the wheels drooping then a loading sensitive compensator would mean the rears wouldn't have much braking effort like you've found?

Assume a load on it by put it back on the ground or activating the compensator and it has then added effort.

even on the drive home i drove really hard on the brakes. The rear discs were freezing cold and rusty but the fronts were really hot

can i fit a compensator off a 172?? or i may as well take the rear discs and calipers off to save the weight for the track lol

how easy a job is that bud, trust me if it was anywhere near perfect i would leave it but honestly the car has shocking brakes to the point where it just wont stop at junctions

that's nowt to do with the rears then

you'll need new brake lines, incar adjustable bias valve etc etc etc, easy if you're handy
