changed exhaust and now got a problem

So I had the yozza taken off and had a standard exhaust fitted.

Got the car home no issues. Went out for a spirited drive this afternoon and noticed a banging under hard acceleration in 1st. the noise is under the gear stick area and also further back towards the rear of the car.

Then reversed into the garage and noticed a crunching while putting the car into 1st.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Sounds like a gearbox issue? Perhaps a coincidence it's occurred same day as changing exhaust???

Sounds like the exhaust manifold knocking the subframe, and possibly whoever fitted the exhaust knocked the gear linkage out of sync

Could be the bracket on the back of the cat catching the heat shield get underneath and have a look, pics might help

Thanks for the replies.

The car has powerflex dogbone engine mounting so I think all is well here.

The guy who did the work has said that there is 2 rubbers that the exhaust fits to and there are 2 securing nuts and washers that hold these rubbers in place. Apparently these are missing but the exhaust should not move at all.
