Changing annual mileage on insurance

  Works...kind of...
Had annual mileage set to 5k back in May which is usually plenty. But this year...well...no.

So I need to get it changed.

Anyone done this having to pay silly money? A mate said he only paid the admin fee so about £25. Just had MOT done so I'm not exactly loaded at the minute. Lol.

I'm with Adrian Flux.

Just leave it? Never made a difference on my policy! How would they know how many miles you do? Did they take a speedo reading when you took the policy out my insurers never do?

Adrian flux do. ;)

They ask you what mileage the car is at when you take out the policy so I assume that if I have a prang and they find I'm above my annual 'allowance' I'd better lube myself up.

Any way to not pay out I s'pose.

But yeah, every other insurer I'd been with never wanted the current mileage.

i guess if your cars been mot'd then they can work out the mileage pro rata using the mot mileage and number of months since the mot took place. it will be obvious if your doing alot more miles than you claim...having said that its only an estimate you give.

Its all rubbish really, I had an Elise on a 6k policy and it was driven by someone else under a fully comp policy and it was driven on a lot of track days.
