changing engine insurancewise

  MK2 PH2 & E46 330
say i had a 1.4 rt with 70k on the clock.

and i wanted to change the engine to one of that with less miles.... would my insurance be affected?

and out of interest how easy is it to change a clio engine?

DVLA would need to be made aware of the engine change as the engine number would be different, but if it's like-for-like then I don't see why it would affect your insurance?

as above, officially DVLA should be notified but not many bother to tell them. Insurance wouldn't be affected as it's a like for like replacement.

As for how difficult it is it's a pretty straightforward job tbh. Out of interest, this to do with mine if you got it? If so no need to worry about the engine as it's in good nick and these engines go on forever - I know of one that was still going well at 200k, but then got taken out to use for parts but was still going strong.

Insurance arn't bothered I'd ring them tell them its an identical transplant but they don't care so long as its the same engine.

Engines are changed under warently a lot wthout owners knowing realy.

Chnagint the engine not to abd if you've the tools etc. A 1.2 easy the 2.0 are the pains as there so abig in such a small bay.
