changing gearbox oil on ph1 172. please confirm pictures asap

found it. thanks. draining now and oh boy it pours out!!!!!!!!!

all over the drive but thankfully the drive its knackered anyway!!

Awful smell to it isn't it? I dropped the sump plug in the bucket when I dropped my gearbox oil and had to stick my hand in the old oil. Took ages to get rid of the smell.

First time I drained my 172s gearbox oil I thought the cat had pissed on my jeans! The smell makes me gag! lol.

Interested to know what GB oil you used, how much it was and whether it made any difference :)

i used castrol 75w80......(not many rate this but got cheap)

i paid £30 for 5 litres(in litre bottles though)

seems smoother cold or warm.
