Cheap 197

Ok so I know its not got the best rep (the dealer), but if you do the checks and take a mechanic it cant be too bad.

May be high miles and is basic but might go have a look.

NEVER buy from that garage! All bunch of dodgy as hell asians.
My mate bought a ek9 from them and it was F*cked. It was advertised as mint but it was accident repaired. HPI check came back clear.

He showed me the car and i spotted the rear quater and doors were different shade of white. I had PTG(paint thickness gauge) to confirm it had a spray job before. Reading were over 360 microns on the door and rear quater.
Reading on rest of the car were between 110-150 microns.
So my mate booked an AA guy to come down to have it checked.
The AA man confirmed it was in a bad accident before and was repaired badly.
I don't excatly know what was wrong with the car.
Steer clear from that Garage guys!

Tbf that just sounds like your mate was a bit dense. If it was that badly repaired he should of spotted it!

I've heard stories like this before, but like i said in the OP, do the checks and it should be fine.

If i was going to buy from them I would take a mechanic with me to do the checks on the car.

TBH i'd rather buy a cheap 197 than a pricey 182, the build quality is going to be far superior and rattle less, and you get lots for your money.

But that price is LOW!

The same garage has a blue 197 on an 06 plate up for £8.5k and they have the red 56 plate going for £2.5k LESS....... you just know that's sh@gged! Either that or it's got 120k on the clock for "motorway miles"

I've visited this garage initially on my own looking for an M3. And then again visiting with pals (against my advice), each time we've practically ran out of the place as quickly as possible, laughing all the way back home.

Stock is 90% awful, service is even worse. I wouldn't waste your petrol money, but people still flock there hoping for 'something special'. 99/100 you'll be home after 5 minutes searching the internet again.

That garage is literally 30 seconds from my house. They are a bunch of drug dealing c***s that use the trade centre as a front for all the cash they get for drugs. They are fairly well known for it round here, and i don't know a single person that would ever buy a car from them. I used to ride my mini moto down there when i was like 16 and look around the cars and as ^ said most of the cars have cracks in body work and stuff. Honestly Mike don't waste your time!!!

I probably wont bother looking but I was thinking if I could get it for mine plus about £1K then its not a bad swap.

I wouldn't touch a 3 year old 197 with 110K on the clock. You put 30K more on it and you'll be literally begging people to buy it off you come resale. If you plan on keeping it long term then providing its all sound then go for it.
