link don't work for me, now if they are gaz, don't touch them, they'll ruin the car, and they are very noisy (been there done it etc)

if you can't afford coilys, either save up some more of just get a nice set of konis etc

trust me

Just look at the fact that a fair few people on here have got rid of their 182 Gaz coilovers (or have tried to) shortly after having them, there's a reason for that!

I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole.

Well... I like them and if it wasn't for the baby on the way thing, I'd be getting a set as I want my car lowered.

To each their own ;)

Funny how everyone loves then when they are trying to sell them and hates them after they're gone! lol :rasp:

People in the know will tell you how bad they are, just look at Gaz's comments.

Pete, mine are for sale because I am selling the car .. please get your facts straight ..

WRT some people liking them and others not .. we could say exactly the same about tastes in the opposite sex for example .. you appear to like blondes :dead: and I like brunettes :approve: .. lol if we all liked the same life would be boring .. (just like this conversation) .. :sleepy:

What is funny to me is that there are plenty of people on here that have Gaz suspensions and are more than happy with them .. i.e each to their own as I have already said ..

^^ thanks John .. I won't forget the good people I have met on here .. and will keep in touch with them as I have made some really good friends ..

Best stop the spamming now .. lol or I will get slated for going off topic hehe ;)

Marie :)

I actually like brunette's more so than blondes but that's totally off topic. :rasp:

The guy asked for opinions and got mine, the tests done at leda proved how s**t the Gaz dampers were at err...damping! Damping curve was described as looking like it'd been drawn by a 2yr old on an etch-a-sketch. If the guy is after decent handling from them then he needs to look elsewhere than Gaz coilovers.

The guy asked for opinions on the link .. that doesn't work so how does anyone know they are Gaz .. lol

Lets try this on a different level .. tesco's own baked beans v Heinz .. :clown:

You get what you pay for and for the money the Gaz kit is worth every penny imho :approve: .. not to everyones taste but not everyone has £1k+ to spend on Leda or whatever suspension .. thats the point I am trying to make .. :sleepy:

i like them, very good for the money

as i say though, you have to spend time setting them up, if you don't know what you're doing, then yes you'll never get them right and you'll hate them

My point is you can get a better solution with a damper/spring setup rather than getting a set of cheap Gaz coilovers as they're just a dire package.

If you search for the ebay item number it shows them as being Gaz coilovers.

The bloke that set mine up has been working on hillclimb/sprint/track/autotest cars for 25 years so I think its fair to say mine were set up right....

Did you think I'd just gone off on a random rant about Gaz coilovers for no reason then? I took the time to look at what the guy was asking about.

I'm from the South, we don't wear string vests down here like northerners. :rasp:

well ive had my gaz for over 6months now and find them excellent, the ride height is perfect and the ride itself is firm without being too hard! the car corners and handles a lot better than it did on the cup suspension and there is a lot less roll!
the kit isnt noisy and tbh its been perfect for me, especially for the price!

i couldnt justify paying over 600 quid on suspension nevermind 1200 quid for ledas seeing as i only drive to and from work and drive for general fun!

perhaps if i was a trackday enthusiast then it might be worth spending 1k plus on suspension, but im not so i wont!

and to be honest, being a relatively novice driver, if i drove a 182 with ledas then drove one with gaz, i wouldnt particularly be able to notice the difference (or at least the 600quid plus price difference)

maybe i was just lucky with my set ;) afterall i did have loonys set which he may have nicely run in for me, and they were setup by the resident expert fred :clown:

lol..no need to use that as an excuse mate. i had a newborn and an 18 month old kid in mine with the AVOs on...altho these can be set softer than the oe set up, albeit with stiffer springs....which with a baby is actually an advantage cos uv then got less roll, which means they not gettin thrown from side to side as much too...

well thats wot i told the mrs anyway lol

and the roads round here arent that bad on em, but the hebden-keighley road gets a bit bad jus as u gettin out pecket well into the moors.
