its a guy i know, they sell salvage, not sure what damage it sustained but its had a drivers door as he was selling a slightly damaged one on eBay previously.

good point, D is the least damaged catagory i think.

D Is repair cost lower or similar to the cars market value, C is if it costs significantly more, a new car can be significatly damaged and still only be a 'd' as its market value is high.

I suppose if the car was worth 9500 before the crash ,it could of had 5ooo damage and been repaired.
