nope, they turned the river green!

Got some pics of them doing it, posting them in a min.

Its rather strange, the dye they put it is a bright red coloured powder and it turns out like this! It was all patchy to start with and we had waited over an hour in the freezing cold so was really disappointed, but then say the end result in the afternoon and was certainly impressed!

chicago is a lovely city, on par with NY for me, lots of things to do, lots of things to look around and photograph.

I normally go in Feb when its very cold, they have lots of snow and the suto show is on, first time i have been in march for paddy's day, and having a lot of irish they like to celebrate it, everyone gets dressed up etc.

SO yes, if you haven't been then I would highly recommend it.

I loved chicago, fantastic place, recognise a lot of those places too.

Don't take this the wrong way, but i think the pictures look a bit flat. Maybe the use of a polorizer or some PP to make the colours pop.

hmmm, i'm s**t at PS, just used the autofixes but honestly, on my screen the colours look really vibrant, the sky's look immense (was using a UV filter).

Anyone else think they need more colour? I am using a high gloss sony laptop screen which normally makes things more vibrant so maybe i need to make them more so so matte screens?

LMAO, yes, that was it

canon 50d, finding it very good in low light, although some of that is down to the lens's too, photos are very good at 1600 iso though, only ocassionally get any banding.

Most of these shots were with a 17-55 f2.8 IS, the zoomed shots were with a 70-200 f4L.

for example the shot of the girl above was at iso1600, taken at 7:40pm (so pretty damn dark considering) and at at 125th/sec fully zoomed in at 200mm, i'd say thats pretty damn good taking into account it was taken though a pretty thick floor to ceiling glass window in a hotel, doesn't get much more difficult to shoot than that.
