there is just plugs mate it is not hard. none of them are the same so if it fits in the hole it is the right plug. should be one into the back of the headunit then the wires should split into two bunched groups and there will be one group for power and one for speakers i think. these are like flat rectangles.

  ?
Richy... dont worry mate. Turned out to be a faulty light uni im sourcing a replacement. Might get back to you after ive tried the new light. But basically it was a problem with the circuit board leaving certain leds brighter than others.

But here is the wires i got with the unit (on the right) and the iso adaptor i bought to fit my car (on the left). Do i just allow the wires that came with the chinese uni and use my iso adaptor? but where is the remote lead etc for my sub/amp?

would help mate if you unravvled the one on the right as we cant see whats on the other end. the remote turn on lead and the rca leads for you amp should come in your wiring kit which you will need to buy to wire in your amp.

No i mean where do i plug the remote lead into in the headunit?
look in the manual for your headunit there should be a wiring diagram showing your leads that you have there and one will say rem or remote turn on or amp 0.3 maybe. that is the one you have to connect it to either by a connector block, crimp or soldering.

  ?
Yeh but the point is whats in the manual will be different since im not using their wires and using the iso adaptor?

... well then on the wires you are going to be using. id there any wires saying amp or rem or remote. or lone blue wires with noting on the end.
if yes then it will be that if no then you will need a wiring diagram or someone who has a chinese hedunit with that wiring to tell you if they have done it before.

  ?
nothing, theres only a pink wire with nothingo on the end.. and a blue wire with no writing on it.

Waiting for the norm to give some advice, apparently he has a hong kong model.

  ?
Ok, after inspecting the chinese wiring and locating the remote wire on the chinese wiring (marked REMO) and comparing it to my new iso loom it appears that the lone pink wire in the picture is actually the remote wire. But this is strange as it says "phone mute" on the pink wire?

Care to tell me which ones the remote lead then? btw... welcome back

Thanks!

I can't remember which wire goes where, but I'll see if i can take my unit out of my car tomorrow, and take a pic of the wires etc.

But thats only if I can get my unit out, as i haven't got the keys with me.

kitchen knive ftw. Surely you cant forget? does any of the above pictures look fimiluar to you ?

I can forget.

And of course, the wires/adapters above look familiar, as its exactly what i was faced with when i recieved my Alpine X100 from the same seller on eBay. :quiet:

  ?
Well please have a look tomorrow then :)

If you dont... im not a patient man... so i may just try the pink cable and see what happens/blows up hehehehehehe

Yes I know you're not a patient man. A text at 8am in the morning saying that you've recieved ur head unit was not neccesary tho!

But i'll see what i can do tomorrow for you.

Yeh justin think this iso adaptor i got does not conform to normal colouring though (cheap ebay jobby)

But im pretty confident its the lone pink one as it fits into the same connector pin as the "REMO" blue/white cable from the original wiring. Also just looked in the manual and it has confirmed the blue/white cable as remote cable.

Chinese manual ftl though.... had to download one lol

Yea I downloaded an English one from the Alpine website, not hard though was it?

The pink was the only lone wire. The blue wire was connected to the iso block, but no i didnt try it.

All sorted nw

pink is phone mute on alpines and blue is amp remote.

  ?
Yes but the iso loom was not an original alpine, was bought from ebay because it was a chinese uni! anyway... ive definately wired it up right it just happens that the wire is pink in colour instead of blue lol!

chances are if you look, that blue wont be going to anywhere on the Renault loom, and it could have been used for the remote, its sometimes used to signal electric aerials so thats why its sometimes wired into the ISO block

  ?
Brun. basically on the alpine wiring diagram a certain plug is shown as REMOTE. in the original wiring its blue, but it just happens that this wiring iso adaptor i bought from ebay the wire is pink, here lies the original confusion! but its all good now :D
