Chip / ECU Upgrade Advice

Hi - I have a 172 Cup with a Pipercross Viper Induction Kit and a K-Tec Stealth mk1 exhaust.

I hear people say you should upgrade the ECU. If I did would I notice much difference in performance?

I noticed my car was kinda backfiring when I fitted my exhaust (Viper was fitted first), I called K-Tech and they advised removing my cold air feed due to not enough air getting to the engine. This did solve the problem BTW.

Any advice?

upgrade ECU? what are you trying to achieve? If it's just a remap, the standard ECU is fine for what mods you have. No need for an upgrade.

Thanks for the reply. I heard some people say it will run/peform better due to more air intake/output.

I will stick to the standard ECU then.

Not much point on a chip/remap for a n/a car imo
