Compare that with these...taken off after 30k miles of road/track abuse...
They were still performing faultlessly right up to the second they were removed, so a slight chip like yours wouldn't be even slightly noticable to the driver and certainly isn't a safety issue.
I had pads just like that on the rear. Only a tiny chip like that and belive it or not the disc was always had the rusty look because of this. And after 1k it was getting worse...
Changed to new pads and after 500 miles it went and the whole disc is perfect slver
