chipping/ re-mapping/ group N ecu????

can some one shine a light for me :S please! I'm abit confused about the above, I know they mess around with the ECU to make the car run ever so slighty quicker. does chipping and re-mapping mean the same thing, but what about the Group N ecu?
may sound like a stupid question to some folk but I'm confused!

chipping is usually a map that has been done "in general" where as a remap can mean that your car is mapped it's own way but follows the guidelines of the original sucessful map... i think... ask paul from rs tuning... he specializes in them

IMO there is and will only ever be one true "Grp N" ecu, it was sold by R-sport and is no longer in production

chipping = off the shelf down loaded flash

remap = done to suit your specifc individual car

Every single ECU on the 172/182 that i have seen so far is siemens

The only bosch i know of in the renaultsport range is the ones from the MK1 and MK2 vee

when was they stopped then fred i had one from r-sport a couple of months ago
