Chopping 172 cat to fit 182?

Getting a 182 manifold and going to buy the 182 to 172 decat from Ktec.

However, I want to be able to modify my current cat to fit the 182 manifold and existing exhaust system for MOT's.

Has anyone done this (Mark and Chris?)

well you'll have both the flanges you need on the 172 cat, so it should work fine if you have some reasonable fabrication and welding skill. I've done similar before, and also made de-cat pipes in this way

I can't do it, but if I look around for a local welder hopefully he should be able to do it then?

Are the flanges offset or both horizonal, if that makes sense.

no need to buy the expensive cat/link pipe from k-tec, you can make a 182 cat fit ;) much cheaper option!

Ok! You make me one of them and I will buy it off you. That's why I wanted to make my 172 cat fit. But if you can make a 182 cat fit for good price I will have that off you.

I thought the 172 cat was longer not shorter! Ha. I'll get Mini-Valver to help me out. Hopefully he will look at this!

Search for user name Mark One on here ; he sent me his guide once , believe it's in the members section.
