187bhp and 190bhp with no cams? On a 172 engine?

I have 197 hp & 241.6 Nm with no cams on 172 engine, according the SuperFlow test:

however I have:
- custom exhaust, incl. manyfold 4-2-1
- matched inlet
- prepared in/oud head channels and valves seats
- 12.8:1 compression pistons with light H-type rods
- race high octane fuel
- remove AirCon and Power Steering pump
- lightweigt alloy 4-way pulleys for crankshaft, alternator and water pump (by Pure Motorsport)
- light crank and flywheel
- custom ECU remap

A Little Update:

So my other pictures are quite frankly crap quality so I popped out an got some pics of some new parts I've got

Bonnet catches and Carbon washer blanks

I also had the opportunity to get a full flocked dash, it included; top dash, bottom dash, centre console etc

Here's a few pics

It all needs a clean before its fitted some time this week, I'm thinking of possibly chopping some parts out the back of the dash to reduce weight

Here are a couple of the Bimarco seat with renault sport stiching

I'm on the look out for a 3" 4 point harness, then I'll be getting myself the Renault sport sabelt wheel with momo boss shortly

Got my mate to do them as he is a body repair specialist, cant say I would trust myself cutting carbon. Sadly some of the lacqour came off so I'm going to trim round the holes with some black vinyl to tidy them up

Just picked up this for the Clio

Will be mounting it directly onto the throttle body cup racer style.

Anybody running a pure motorsport top mount and strut brace set up know whether the brace will clear the airbox?


Also sorted myself a momo boss for the renault sport sabelt wheel I will be getting shortly

Had a journey down to Lincoln today to see matt.

While I was there I bought this Caged Bolt in Rear cage for the Cup.

I had to remove it for matt and tbh it was an absolute doddle to do.

Jobs for this week include:

Remove carpets
Remove Dash
Remove Front Seats
Remove any unwanted sound deadning
Fit Bimarco Seat and frame
Fit Rear Cage

Well these were a bit of an impulse purchase.

AST Top mounts

They're at the engineers getting some machine work done at the minute then will be fitted when I get my Kw Coilovers


Thats going to probably be it on the purchasing front for this month, next month will see a new exhaust and Renault sport Sabelt wheel.

Another little update

Today I got the cage in

Was a straight forward fit, got a lot of work to do tomorrow removing the rest of the interior.


Also a well needed new part:

Powerflex bushed dog bone mount

I also had my side strips off to give them a clean. Shortly I'll be getting some carbon bullets hence the removal of the standards

Fitted back up awaiting carbon bullets

I also won a trs 4 point harness on eBay, sadly it's red but it'll do the job for now

Chris if your doing a project because you love your car, adding money your spending up is te worst thing you can do! In my year of ownership of my cup I've got more receipts than the previous 7 years! And I haven't a clue what I've spent, if I did I'd probably be single lol.

Lol I know mate, would rather just sell it. pay off some debts I have lurking because of the trophy and just have nothing, it's going to be tough starting on the Car ladder from scratch again but I'll be much happier not seeing my wages going each month for a car that I dont even have anymore. Sad but true

Top and bottom of it is, I really cant commit to ripping the car apart and flogging it on to someone else. Since I put the private plate on its always felt like it's now 'MY' car.

So I've had a re-think.

The plan is to put the car back on the road at the beginning of february and just enjoy it, put upgrades on as and when I can afford them.
