Hi guys, for a while now I have been looking at getting a quicker car. Looked at a few but this one standed out. Nice to drive pretty quick and looks great.

Ive had a far few motors in my time but after my 240bhp Astra Coupe Turbo I had to downsize due to job loss.

So I went from this...

To This...

And Now this...

As I said before I love it. There are a few issues I will be sorting out. And a few mods I already have on order but for 77k 8 Months MOT 6 months Tax and at £1570 I couldnt say no. Brilliant car so far. Full receipts including Cambelt, Aux and dephaser done in the last 3k.

Just need to get the car cleaned and get all the niggles sorted out. I have a checklist

1. Fit the headunit properly
2. Get the amp and sub working, the wiring is s**t
3. Get headlights restored.
4. Get a few of the bodywork issues sorted (few small dents, few large scratches
5. New discs and pads all round (personal preference as rears need doing mights as well do the 4 corners)
6. Need a couple of rear springs at some point. Might invest in some lowering ones as they are just as cheap/good.
7. Cleaned, Clayed, Polished and Hoovered.
8. REMOVE THE CUP BADGES... I know, I know.
9. New wiper blades.
10. And for some reason the headlight washers arent working, I've tried every ten squirts and even holding the washer stalk down for a bit but nothing?

Managed to give the car a good clean today. Stripped the amp wiring from the car and got a bit click happy with the buy button and have ordered a bit:

1. 8 Gauge Wiring Kit 1500W
2. Stalk adaptor for stereo controls
3. Wind deflectors
4. Bonnet bra until I can get the bonnet replaced.

I will mate. Had the Mrs drive it today and for some reason she loved it? She never likes my cars lol Said it drives really nice. Result. Might be allowed to get more mods sorted now lol Got a few ideas to get the bodywork in check. The lumpy idle is the only real niggle I have with it really. If I had the cash I would get that sorted with an RS tuner lol

I loved the idle, there highly strung engines I assumed it was normal.

It doesnt bother me too much. Averaging 32 at the mo... Oops need to keep my foot off the accelerator lol.

On another note had a few bits turn up today:

- Bonnet Bra
- Stalk adaptor........... Which is massive by the way, needs to have part of the dash apart to fit it all? Is that right?
- Dice Dust caps.

And ordered the ClioSport Membership (obviously).

Will wait until the weekend and strip the dash and get the meaty amp wiring installed.

Covered my pillar strips in carbon fibre. Looks subtle. Going to get a few bulbs and change to LEDs to brighten the car up a bit. Side lights, numberplate light, interior lights and boot.

I'll try not to mate. Just keep it fresh and subtle. But as much as I say I wont 'chav' it... I might but then again its all down to preference and peoples opinions.

Will get some bits sorted and stick with a colour theme. Thinking about chavving it, lime green bullets and the front grille diamond. Lol

Got some new bits on order:

- New flat wiper blades
- Headlight Correction kit
- Thumb grip stuff (to attempt a self made right hand grip. Will keep you updated)

Well as the sun was trying to come out and it wasnt raining, I decided to crack on with fitting all the bits that turned up this week.

1. Steering Controls
2. Wind Deflectors
3. Bonnet Bra
4. Headlight Restore
5. Cliosport.net Sticker
6. My Thumb Grip attempt
7. New wipers.

So heres the results...

Its hard to get a good image but not bad for £11.99

And now time for the thumb grip attempt.

Basically my old one was shagged, like the majority and it was annoying.

I had a go at moulding Loctite Putty round the place of the old one. Leaving for a couple of hours until it was solid and then covered it in carbon wrap.

I sanded it down so there wasnt any lumps and bumps under the wrap.

I was going to paint it but thought that paint would rub off pretty quickly, so I wrapped it instead.

Not Streamline carbon quality but for a total of around £6 its hardly going to be...

And thats it.

More bits done next month. Most likely maintenance rather than mods... Need discs and pads on the rear.

Just a quick one... Got a couple more bits on order for now:

1. Fabia Splitter
2. 6000k Replacement Xenons as mine are a bit dull.
3. LED Bulbs for the side lights as mine are yellow and look poo.

Bought a few more bits along with the above this morning:

1. LED Bulbs for interior
2. LED Number plate bulb
3. Velcro for below
4. Fancy Plates 84mm front clean, plain number plates.

I thought whilst adding the splitter I would change the number plates also so the front end is completely sorted.

I'm removing the front tints but leaving the 3 rears and the bonnet bra is only on temporarily until I source a mint 676 pearl bonnet.

Mine is Shagged and looks poo. But mint ones get snapped up fast so I have to keep looking.

Thumb grip will be replicated on the other side too but need to figure out how to remove it without destroying it.

Good work on the thumb grip - have you done both?

As mentioned - lose the tints/wonderbra and you'll be heading the right way!

Thanks mate but as mentioned the bra is staying until a new bonnet is sourced. Small update also I got my smaller number plate on today. Getting the new bulbs and Fabia splitter fitted on saturday. Also got really bad brakes front and rear.

I recently bought some Astra GSI snowflake alloys really cheap. I have had them refurbed and once they are sold, the profit will pay for the discs and pads all round. Which is nice!
