Cleaning wheels (different ways)

As you can all see (and have probably seen already) form my thread that i had a go at trying to get my wheels perfect! as anyone used any wet and dry say 1200/1500 to try and clean up pittered areas (wheel cleaner only got them so good) just a thought! pics below of what im up against!!

they havent eaten though the paint as there isnt any paint! (i did think about painting the rear?! or just the centre part! to get a better finish?! just a thought!
 
The insides are painted in grey type primer - it is not bare metal. The pitting has gone through the primer.
 
There is a finish on the reverse of the wheels.

As rich says.

Why this deserves another thread is beyond me btw

are you sure it primer i just thought it was bare alloy! and Ali i dont think they will help tbh :o but thanks folks!
 
ok thanks think i may paint the rear inner part of the wheels then to get them perfect! thanks folks!! :) inner part in anthercite to mate the front face! :) mask off paint part of wheel! ;)
 
lol - Geek - it is hard enough to find the the front match let alone a colour match to some random grey etch primer.
 
^^ i know im a fussy sod! (do i make you look normal Rich) :o could you imagine the conversation id have with the paint shop! LOL
 
i could wheel a wheel round to the poeple next door or borrow there paint swatches :S but i think then they will still think im strange!! hahaha
 
yeah but what the point of spending 500.00 on some new wheels - when i could rub down the slight impafactions of the inner wheel and spray them! (i was thinking mask up the main part of the wheel (inner) and rub down the inner spokes and spray the inner part in anthercite?! what do you think?! at least way i could keep them very clean! ;)
 
The wheel place that did my Anthracite 106 wheels did them inside and out with the same colour and a gloss finish, look much better.

^ looks nice but i was wondering what they looked like inside! LOL i guess theres only one way to find out! + one of mine has a slight nick in it! on the inner part of the weel! what looks like someone has caught it when putting it back on so i could rub that down to!! all this for 10/20 pounds rather than 500 - sounds like a project!! ;) ...awaits thread! LOL
 
FFS - They look the same on the inside as the outside like I said.

Imagine the finish on the face of your wheel, on the whole wheel and there you have it !

you have a point there! they dont corrode like 182 wheels! crap cheapo renault wheels why ooo why!! but that still is going to cost a fair wack then i will end up with lots of wheels unless i sell these! + i ever have to buy new or find some good second hand and there never going to be that good if there second hand! ;) + i like to keep it standardish!!
 
+ id be scared to buy second hand wheels tbh you dont know what someone has done with them!

I think you should be able to see a buckled wheel when you see one though Paul in all fairness...use your eyes lad!!! ;)
 
now now! i wouldnt know how to see a buckled wheel :S unless it had a chunk out of it?! :S thats why i have always stayed clear!
 
If you're that cautious the simple way round it is getting a local tyre fitter to spin it up on the wheel balancer. Will take 30 seconds if you're that paranoid about it.
