clicking noise cup 172

theres a clicking noise coming from my 172 cup when idling, should i be concerned? Also can anyone advise on best oil to use? Cheers

Is the noise coming from cabin or engine? Engine oil should be fully synthetic 5W-40.

Hi mate, thanks for getting back. The noise is coming from the engine but you can hear it in the cabin. A guy told me it might be the lifters. Should I be concerned? Will new oil sort it?

Just try unplugging the solonoid first that will establish if its that,

It is located in the drivers side arch
