Clio 1.2 16v campus sport questions

Hi all,
I am new to the club, and plan to buy my first Clio campus sport 1.2L 16v.

I do however have two questions about it that I cannot find an answer to on "the google"

1) can the factory stereo be easily replaced with a standard shop-bought stereo, and will any fascia's be needed?

2) I was unable to alter the display to show me my current MPG or temperature (or anything other than the time) and have read that other users here have both features, in what I can tell is the same model of car. Dont all campus sport's have his feature? And is it something I can have added?

1. Easy, just get the correct harness for the stereo to match the clio.

2. Your looking at the wrong display by the sounds of things. My bogo spec campus has the trip computer in the middle of the dials, and the button on the end of the wiper stalk controlls all the computer functions

Hi Ginge, welcome. Not sure on the stereo question, but on both of my mk2's there's a button on the tip of the wiper stalk that you press and cycle through your trip computer (mpg, trip etc) that's in between your dials. Is this what you've been using?

When i got my 172 it had a loose wire on the stalk, so it wouldn't cycle through-the default readout is the cars mileage. When you mention the temp readout on the centre console-don't think this can be altered. Someone may come along to say otherwise though.

If there's one thing I can recommend about doing to the campus straight away, is lowering it.

Dont go anything less than 60mm. Ride quality is fine at that and speedbumps are no issue AT ALL.

And get yourself to halfords if your not sure on wiring harnesses, take their advice, then get onto ebay and order it.
Cos you'll need a good stereo if your doing long journeys in it.

cool, im out that way for a meeting with work in march, might be worth meeting up mate, ive got exactly the same car, mine is getting lowered in the next few weeks and an alloy refurb

If there's one thing I can recommend about doing to the campus straight away, is lowering it.

I dont plan to go that far- no lowering or spacing. I want to keep it fairly subtle. And thanks for the help offer, may take you up on that one day

you have to lower it! it sits like a tractor! and it looks like they forgot to finish making the axles the wheels are so far in the arches, theyre ugly standard but nice one modded a little, cant wait to get mine done, just gotta find the time

Lowering keeps it subtle.

Here's mine when it had Black alloys, lowered 60mm and a sport grille.

Just hit 40k the other day, Got it on 12k about 18months ago.

Getting rid for a stinky diesel though, work commuting has risen alot recently.

Fabia VRS, many seem to rate them on here.

Good gains for little money, and cheap(ish) to insure for me.

Just trying to find the right one at the right price, Ideally red and below £5000!

good choice, fabia is about the only car i like in red, it suits it for some reason. keep hunting im sure one will turn up!
