Clio 1.2 d4f black box!

No? It's a common fault with this engine apparently. Goes over the cables which go into the ecu to 'protect' them. But in turn comes loose and chews through them, causing the car to go into limp home mode and cut out which mine starting doing day before yesterday - which was great fun btw.
-.-

It's below the Altimeter, but right of the flap controls.

That's the top of my engine, towards the back. That's where I'm looking around. Sorry if I'm being thick but it's hard to find something when you've no idea what it is lol.
Thanks for the help so far everyone!

Some of those cables have always had a little bit of electrical tape on since I've owned the car. I've wrapped more round them. Is it best to just completely cover it all in tape? And that makes sense as to why I can't find it ;p lol

It will probably be ok tbh if you've wrapped it with some more tape. How come you were looking for it anyway?

Because the The other night my car went into limp home mode and broke down twice with the electrical light coming on on the dash. I was wanting to see the condition of the cables and this 'box' knowing that its a common fault. Just trying to eliminate causes for it happening really. Started it earlier and it ran nicely so I don't know what it is. Any info on that would be appreciated if you know about it!

Try and get hold of a obd code reader see if it has logged any codes. That would be my first port of call :)

Throttle body apparently. That's what's failing. Bloke said to clean it all up and try driving it again and if the same light comes on he'll come plug it in again for free. Where do I find that?! Lol

throttle body is a bit of a pain to get to on the D4F. It's underneath the inlet plenum, It's not hard to remove or do just a pain.

Na no special tools required just the usual sockets, screw drivers and torx bits n pieces.

Well finished it all a while ago and have tested it a few times. Feels massively more responsive now and I've driven it bloody hard twice now (obviously once warm!) , so I feel that throttle body issue is fixed as I couldn't make that same light come on! Only issue now is the initial Starting and up to the point it's warm. It runs really rough until warm. Any ideas why that could be? Idle control valve / sensor? Which does the clio have and where can it be found?
Thanks, Ollie

no idea about the sensors but mine runs pretty rough until its warm as well but i would guess that most cars do don't they?
