Clio 1.2 - RenaultSport Project

I've finally got round to making my little beauty into something a bit more 'sporty' without looking like a chavs dream.

I started getting everything together in July and so far I have fitted...

  • RS front grill
  • Pioneer headunit
  • Hertz 6"x9"s fitted to a stealth shelf
  • Colour coded bump strips and bullets
  • OZ Superleggera wheels 16" black with acid yellow decals
  • 172 rear bumper with exhaust cut out and surround
  • ProSpeed cat back - 3.5" slash cut
And the things I have in the garage but have not yet colour coded/fitted...

  • RS front bumper
  • RS front wings
  • RS side skirts (should arrive tomorrow)
And other things I have planned in the near future...

  • Lowered 60mm (probably on a suspension kit or coilovers)
  • Induction kit is a maybe
  • Brakes when i get round to them
  • Possibly strip out the interior but undecided atm!
I took some photos today (after a spin down a few dirt tracks) ;) They arent the best but I might take some decent ones tomorrow.

Forgot to say..this week the door handles, spoiler and RS kit are being sprayed and should hopefully be on by the weekend. And the same goes for the Renault diamonds which will be satin black to match the wheels!

thanks guys lol yeh it does need a wash, might go give it a quick one now. what do you think about lowering it? will a fixed suspension kit do the job? k-techs own brand 60mm kit? i was thinking of going lower but i cant afford coilovers unless i find a second hand set but they are few and far between

yeah or they dont really come out the same you can see the other colour through the panel gaps etc

or at least prep/spray the edges with spray cans the same colour of the car then get it pro painted on the car to blend it in

yeh..but the exhaust makes you feel like you are going faster. i think it has only improved performance by 2-3bhp?

2-3 is good enough. mines standard but will be fitting exhaust sooner or later. good luck with project. gonna start mine soon.

**QUICK UPDATE**

Picked up some side skirts from dutch182 tonight so now I've got everything I need. I was hoping to get everything sprayed and on by the weekend but that doesnt look likely atm so will prob be next week. I should get some smoked side repeaters and metal interior footrest next week. Im not sure how the side repeaters will look but Im hoping they will go with the black wheels and diamonds!

I'll post some more pics over the weekend too!

Looks good so far mate, I love the wheels :) As has been said after it's been colour coded and lowered it will look spot on.

Personally I can't afford coilovers either so think I'm going to be getting a set of -60mm springs and shocks as I've heard just getting springs ruins the standard ones (this could well be a load of BS btw but i'd rather be safe than sorry)

Oh and a clean wouldn't hurt it either :rasp: lol

**UPDATE**
Ive decided to lower the car before I do the bumpers so I'm going to phone Sean at K-Tech and order the 60mm K-tech supsension kit unless anyone has some coilovers for sale at a decent price?! Will be getting everything else fitted and sprayed at the end of September.

**UPDATE**
Lowering springs should arrive on monday as I missed the delivery yesterday. In the mean time I've fitted a Turner footrest which looks really good and will look even better when i get hold of some decent pedals. Smoked side repeaters look really good with the black wheels, and I also fitted some silver front indicator bulbs which pretty much transform the front end! Will post some pics at the beginning of the week, hopefully when its lowered and cleaned!

You've spent a lot on this car in one big lump! Are you a drug dealer :p

Looking good though, got the same idea as me. Doing most of the colourcoding myself though :) save on the pennys. :)

Not suree the paint is a pefect match the car but its hard to tell. And its fresh paint to its going to look brighter anyway. Its a nice blue but not as nice as the racing blue or arctic blue!

looking good! im just waiting on getting RS wings then mine will be done! How did you attach the side skirts? To have front bumper, wings and skirts painted ive been quoted £300! what did you end up paying?

Whats the next mod planned? what about RS interior?

I didnt do it, the bodyshop did. I think they used panel bond because they couldnt work out how the black clip things go on. I had...Front bumper, rear bumper, spoiler, wings, side skirts, door handles and diamonds sprayed. And they put it all back together and fitted the suspension kit for £560. It might be less for you cos you live in NI!

Ive run out of money so there prob wont be much else apart from a splitter and spacers. It depends what i can get cheap.

Can i ask where/who you got to spray everything + fit your springs. Sounds like they're cheapish :). Im gonna need some spraying etc done soon. Cheers

lol.. why would it be cheaper for me cause I live in N Ireland? That was a quote for just the painting.. it was gona be £450 including painting and fitting! so im going to fit it all myself!

One of my parents mates does bodywork, mainly painting. Its down south so might be a bit far for you? Hes always busy as well so you would have to book it in a few weeks in advance and probably leave the car with him for a week.

From what ive read on here loads of people say most things are cheaper over your way. Maybe its just insurance thats cheaper!

EBAY!! thats where I got my front bumper for £75!! took a while, but just be sad like i was and search for clio parts every day! lol.. ;)
