Clio 1.2 RL - Headlights suddenly stopped working

Hi,

I have a 1997 Clio 1.2 RL.

When driving home yesterday evening, the main headlights (while on) stopped working for a few seconds, and then came on again.
This morning they don't want to come on at all anymore, and I can't use the flash beam either anymore.

My small lights still work, but that's obviously not enough to drive around in these dark short days of the year...

On the dash, the indicator lights for the headlights and the full beam aren't coming on either, does that point in any specific direction?

I did replace the fuse, but that didn't help.

What do I need to check, and how do I go about it?

Have a similar problem, side lights work and dipped but no full beam. Day before M.O.T they stop working.

I would say, Ballonic, that the first thing to check would be the stalk. Is it still engaging correctly?

Then for both check the relays providing fuses are still intact.
