Clio 1.2 running probs

our 1.2 oasis nevew seems to want to start in a morning and cuts out a lot while trying to set off, then doesnt wanna start, runs ok at times then same again, any suggestions where to start to fix the prob?

is this a new 1.2 16v ??

if so there is a load of problems associated with these,

try replacing the spark plugs, makes a world of difference.

MAF sensor?

A good service seems to cure running problems

Or/ and give it a clean out with that cleaning stuff they sell at halfords etc along with a full tank of decient fuel (ie no supermarkets etc)

a few possibilities:-

1,map sensor fault(also check the condition of the rubber pipe to the map sensor)

2,coolant temp sensor fault

3,tdc sensor fault

mine started to do that, new HT leads and spark plugs and now its fine!

get an ecu check-mite be a computer error as i had this on my 1.2 8v mk2

its fine now...

normally the ecu faults due to water ingress and corrosion on old clios.you can visually see this if you remove and inspect the computer.
