Clio 1.4 16v Help and Advice

Im planning on getting a Clio 1.4 16V and I feel the best way a car should look is not that it sticks out and demands attention like some of the cars you see that look like have come out of Christmas crackers but are refined and when you actually look in detail you see how well done and classy the job has been done. Basically im asking for your help, how much should I lower it buy (40mm – 60mm?) and what suspension should I use? Also what are the best brakes I should use and where’s a good place for strut brace’s? also how much do people charge to colour code the door protectors ( I think that’s what there called). Use coilovers Fk's minimum £420 or so for them.

Strut braces are realy pointless without a few suspension mods most are looks only.

Standard brakes are fine tbh.

If you want to lower it cheaply, eibach sportlines (£120) or apex (£80) are probably the best bet for a -40mm drop. If you can afford it go with what edde said though

Colour coding the bumps strips is easy enough to do yourself, but if you want it done in a body shop it might be 100+?

K-Tec zorst helps. ¬_¬

They have some decent headlights too, tinted black. Looks very swish without standing out.

And yeah, the brakes are f**king immense.

Mine are vented.

Yeah all 1.4 mk2s have vented brakes, only the 1.2 8v have solid discs and the mk1 1,2 and 1.4

No they're drilled discs! Vented have the gap in the middle and you will have them! Hold on willl find a pic

No you dope, he just means they're essentially 2 discs with a bridged gap in the middle

i got a mk2 ph 1 1.4 16v and i got vents so thats where i got the info from as the car was owned from new by PAT a 61 yr old wher ei work and she took uber care of it until the ding in the door but that was 1 week b4 i got it ... grrrrr but any ways breaks are spot on

Nope there way better than disk in so many respects.

also my sterring and response seems alot better than the 1.2's

Its because the 14./1.6 and dci use different bushes and rack etc.
