clio 16v on carbs

how much will it cost,what bhp will i gain(20-25bhp)has anyone on here done it?is it a worthwhile mod?will i see a good improvement on pick up?just toying with ideas at the minute b4 i splash out!cheers for your advice

Looks a bit of an untidy conversion.

With carbs alone on a std engine you wont see much power unless you really sort the hot air problem. And you can already see the lack of space on that install.

power wont be upped dramatically, and you will suffer in terms of running smoothness, pain in the arse starting and cold running. Itll hate the weather opposite to what it was setup in etc etc.

Pretty useless really. If you want individual runner performance than throttle bodies is the only way really. And you can get space saving bodies allowing you to run a nice airbox and remote pickup.

apparently that guy had bought an ex clio cup racer engine running over 180bhp, then with the carbs he said it was 210bhp, but he wasnt running decent times really at york!

personally i wouldnt bother.

It really is a step backwards.

If you care to wait till the summer im might have an easy solution that solves your problem for more power.
