Sorry mate i just assumed you were from here...

I meant "pumped" as in been raced and ragged about everywhere?

A shift light in a clio?

The driver was a..uh..

Enthusiast:rasp:
It's going once I get the car, looks so out of place in a little hatchback.

To millwall4life2008:

Misunderstood, sorry mate.

I can afford it, and I am doing it.
I'm not letting a bunch of people on the internet tell me what to do:rasp:

What part of my post are aggressive?

I asked why is he so different to me, why am i the type to wrap my car around a tree...

I then said how people will disagree with him.... If you have a problem with me expressing my opinion then just wait till everyone else sees this and deffend him over them... any thing to do with 17-18 mayb 19 yrs old wanting to drive a 172... NOBODY likes it....

END OF!

He's in australia anyway so it doesnt matter if he's insured or not it won't affect us over hear.

Good look and be safe.

Also at 18 172 insurance will be a lot. I'm hoping to get it at 19 but we'll see.

People are saying to wait till you have got a years no claims, but i'm 20, 2 yrs ncb with a clean licence. I have my Mum insured on it to help bring it down, and i'm still paying just over £1800!

The only time its really going to drop is when you are 21, I know someone with 6 points on there licence and only 1 yrs no claims, they are 21, and they are only paying £750.

Its all about the age!

when i was 17 i had a 3ltr 24v senator i paid 2k for insurance and drove it like a loon! I dont know how i am alive! i really dont.
It was only when i blew the head i decided that my style of driving needed to change. and it did.
If this kid wants a 172 i say go for it. A 172 is a good choice. Its not rediculously fast and its safe.

From an abundance of evos, imprezas, pulsars, turbo imports, tvrs etc Ive only ever had one car ive considered slow and that was a 1.6 escort and ironically that is the only car ive been caught speeding in! so technically thats the car ive been most dangerous in?
Any car can be driven dangerously. any car can be a weapon in the wrong hands. Doesnt matter what car your in if your pushing the limits of your car your safety and other road users has been jepordised. :nono:

i've been driving for a year and a quarter now, and i haven't crashed yet, thankfully. I've also got pass plus.

I wouldn't go for a 1.2 it's just not the same lol.

Im paying £700 fully comp with norwich union at the moment on my 1.6 *cough*sportka*cough* but they said they will not insure anyone under 25 on a 172.

anno w*****s a cant get my staff discount on the clio :(

Christ almighty, some people are a bit OTT on here. Chillllllll.

When I got my 182 it scared the sh*t out of me with the power, with only having driven for a year and a half - like already said - I was, and still am, learning how to drive properly.
I've never crashed, but nothing says I won't because sometimes I majorly take the piss in mine, and then it smacks me back into reality.
You'll get raped over insurance, if you'll even find anyone to insure you, but f**k it - if you want the car, get it! They are immense fun :)

And then if something ever did happen (Of course, I don't wish that upon you), you can't say you weren't told by the lovely members of CS.

I think the problem is that people (and insurance companies) assume all young drivers drive like idiots. I know plently of younger drivers who drive far more sensibly than people much older than them.

yeah indeed. but the statistics show young drivers are more likely to wrap it round a treee for example over older drivers. thats just the way it is!

Oh yeh obviously in general young drivers are more likely to crash, but I was just saying they're often stereotyped by people thinking they're all 'high risk' drivers.

Its just funny how one day your 24 years old and your unsafe to drive a certain type of car but the very next day when you turn 25 your suddenly a safer driver? and likewise when you turn over 50 years old insurance starts going up again.
Why are people not individually assesed? If you are a safe driver then premium should be fixed regardless of age. Value, area and Desirability should be the only factors after that.
Car insurance buggs the tits off me. They are just total idiots. Ive had so many runins with them ive lost count. They never actually know anything about the cars either.
I had one lady asking if my dumpvalve added 20bhp or 25bhp? i explaind it didnt add any and she had to reffer me to the underwriters. they couldnt belive it didnt add any horse power and after a 30 minute conversation about how almost every facory spec turbo car will come as standard with a dumpvalve and that horse power wasnt increased i was allowed to add it as a modification with no charge!

Yup... it takes the mick!....also this whole womens insurance only... erm sexist!

^^ In the words of jemery clarkson... Older drivers are more likely to be more dangerious on the roads than young drivers... im sure everyone has seen that ep of top gear!

:boring:

how is it sexist though? it is done on statistics according to your job, age, location, vehicle etc etc. females have less accidents then men, hence why they are cheaper. pretty obvious to me.

i can't see how it can be done any simpler tbh.

no, but it doesn't change the STATISTICAL FACTS. There is no discussion. young male drivers are more likely to crash, drink drive and make more claims. hence why they cost more.
