Clio 172 CUP alternator??

Morning,

I have just been on the phone to Renault about a new 172 cup alternator. There are apparently two different types, both valeo items but with different part numbers.


Price difference is about £55

Will they both fit?

One is for the a/c equipped cups and the other is for the non a/c equipped cups mate. I've had both so I know this! Lol! Yours will be the 80amp one. The a/c cars run a 110amp iirc.

You need the correct one that's specific to your car mate as they mount differently.

No, its just as notrhloopcup says. They are a different shape with different mounting points.

Cup will be the cheaper - lower amperage unit.
