Clio 172 cup cheap mods

Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone can help, id like to mod my clio 172 cup a bit, what are the cheaper options with maximum gain? i.e filters and induction kits etc. Cheers.

A decent panel filter in the standard airbox with the acoustic valve removed in your air intake pipe and then re-route your air feed to the lower grill at front of car with ducting pipe.

Type Acoustic Valve into search, theres plenty threads on it

Remove the bar that runs along the back seat in the boot, can save a fe pounds in weight if you don't need it.

Bulbs make loads of difference to the look of the car! They get rid of the fried egg look!!!

Its quick enough anyway, nothing you do will make it much quicker unless you want to spend thousands on ITBs or turbo!

Yeah ok thanks. How about a pipercross induction kit? or viper kit?

Quite expensive mate. Most people on here go with an ITG panel filter inside the standard airbox!

Pipercross make the viper kit and although it sounds good, I did hear something about it being quite small and restrictive.

ITG maxogens are the best you can get but are around the £350 mark!

There's BMC CDAs which are also highly rated.

Depends what you mean by cheap?

Pipercross kit won't do much without a remap - you're talking over 500 squids.

If you're short of cash I would keep it all for MOT & regular servicing.

Best value mod £ for £ has to be a decat.
Induction kit is a waste of time unless its a maxogen.

If your handy and able to get under the car and drop the subframe then you could have a 182 manifold fitted with a decat.

200-250 for the manifold second hand,
99 for the decat from ktec

good for 10bhp ISH with the decat there too

No mate i was just wondering what you can get for maximum gain like as cheap as possible for now.

I got around 11-12bhp from getting the inlets done. to get a lot out of the clio you have to spend lots of £'s. leaveit how it is and get some coilovers so it handles better!

But there costly for just a few bulbs, still did it though as i thought it looked a lot better than standards
