Clio 172 cup or Megan's r26 for track days

I have a track only 172 cup which is pretty competitive and great fun..engine is prepped up a bit (seperate ecu, cams, throttle body, matched manifolds, de cat, performance exhaust..etc etc)and usual traçk day mods ( suspension 15 wheels ar1s etc) I am tempted by a r26 Megan' and turning that into a track car If not already done.
Would want it tuned and track prepped/ stripped.
I am interested in views/ advice pros and cons with moving to a Megan's r26.
My car was great on friday but want to see if best to invest further in this car or a r26.
Any advice grately received

Interesting.must admit the clio is a lot of fun. I enjoy what it gives for such an understated car. I don't need to have a fancy dan car at the track. A lot of pleasure can be got taking on far superior cars. Puts a smile on my face. Just not sure if a r26 is calling me.

I completely agree. The R26 will cost a lot more to run especially on track as its far heavier (brakes/tyres) but is easy to modify due to the turbo. I previously had a Megane RS250 which was quick but requires a different driving approach as you don't hold the gears like the NA Clio.

I considered getting a R26 (which are very good cars) as a track car but felt the Clio would be more "fun" despite being slower and far cheaper to run.
