Clio 172 fit electric rack or column

Car  Clio 172
What's the difference am I right in thinking there's a electric
rack and an electric column.

Witch can I fit to 172 column with manual rack
or electric rack with std column.

Would appreciate the help

Thanks guys

Im not aware of any particuarly easy retro fit that goes straight onto a 172 sadly.

A corsa column would be a good one to use though if you were ok to do the fabrication to fit.

I have def seen on here somewhere about using dci rack
wich is electric but then I saw that they also do an
electric colomn so kinda got me stumped.
Strait swap without to much hassle would be nice
Otherwise I may have to go down that route .
Thanks mate

172 / 182: PAS-rack and manual column
Non sport/DCI: manual rack and electric PAS column

When binning PAS on a 1*2 you use the manual column and rack combined.

yea manual rack and column would be to heavy i think, got 205 40 17s nd -camber its fairly heavy already plus the miss's has got to drive it occasionally
she would have no chance parking it..
if i could get the electric pas on would be ideal.

Converting to electric PAS is possible. You'll need the electric coloumn and a rack from a non-sport as these have a steering angle/torque sensor. Then you'll need the EPAS ECU and wiring and adapt that into your existing loom (ignition, power, mass and speed signal afaik). Personally i wouldn't go for the EPAS (got it on my 1.2 16v) as it's too light and inresponsive for my liking.
