Clio 172 Miles per tank?

Ok, I may be being paranoid but I am sure since I swapped out my Honda Civic Type R for a Clio 172 Ph2 I am putting juice in my car than I was with the Type-R yet both have the same size fuel tank.

I was going about 31 MPG in the Type-R and seem to be doing about 35-36 in the Clio according to the MPG computer.

I'm getting about 300 miles out of a tank from full to when the fuel light comes on.

What do you get out of yours?

Some reassurance or comparison would be great as I can't help but wonder if there is something might be wrong with the car I bought privately.

half a tank i get 260miles according to the computer but i am on about 39-40mpg

In my old Phase 1 the most i managed to get from a full tank was 364 miles @ around 41-43 mpg

My 182 is alot better than my Type R about 30 - 31 in the Civic and 35 - 37 in the Clio mixed driving

tbh with you if you take it really easy in any 172/182 you should in theory be able to get well in excess of 350 miles to a tank

Cheers, thats a useful comparison, thought that MPG out of a 182 makes mine look poor in a 172, thought I know it all depends on how and where you drive.

From what I've just read on another post it sounds like the fuel light comes on after 40litres thus 10 litres still left in the tank.

Dont know fi that is true but that would mean there is still a 5th of a tank left, perhaps that fuel light just comes on a lot earlier than in the civic hence whi I feel i'm putting in fuel more often despite the better MPG

I can only get max 280 - 290 on a full tank that is with normal road driving and a bit of motorway. But i have to say i have emptied the tank from full in 150miles lol

my journey to work and back is 45 miles round trip and then i go out for plays every now and again. i generally get 350 miles to a tank. just driven from cambridge to scotland and back and the computer read 48mpg. got 420 miles to one tank

I used to get about 300-315, however this wasn't to the light. With a manual check on the calc it was 36/7 mpg generally.

Depends how I'm driving, but average I'd say around 38mpg which means I'd get around about 420miles to a tank.

I don't look at the fuel light, I just check the trip, it normally goes blank with about 30miles to go, so I'll only do another 20miles max as I've run out in the queue at the forecourt before!

Ohhhh yes!

I'm the same mate, will thrash it then say i need to stop it as am wasting fuel too quick. Then soon as im back in the car its the same old foot to the floor lol.

you lot seem to get better mpg and mpt than my 1.2, down side to having to rev it higher to get anywhere i suppose
