clio 172 original camshafts

  clio rs 2000
hi ihave 260/258 kentcams camshafts on my clio
but iwant to know the difference between the original ones

does anybody knows the values and degrees of the original camshaft

  clio rs 2000
so in 420s thereare two values is it 269/256 and 231/219

my kentcams are 260/258 so the original ones must be 231/219, am i wright?

for the values i am confused a little

The two values are given at difference lift points, 0,1mm and 1mm correspondinly. This is to give you an idea of the true cam duration when off the seat and the flank values. Duration by itself means very little.

Not sure what data kent give as they never specify a lift value so it could be geometric data.

OEM renault cams are 9,9mm lift and 268 deg from memory.......but that would be rough calcs from rens own IO/IC/EO/EC publishings.

in that case i am confused a little
i dont understand what is the difference with my cams if the originals are 268 degree

the specifications are here

Kentcams RN1722 camshafts

-Cam: Sports Road
-Power Band: 2000 - 7000RPM
-Cam Lift: 5.51mm - 5.02mm
-Valve Lift: 9.34mm - 8.54mm
-Duration: 260 - 258 Degrees
-Timing: 18/62 61/17
-Valve Timing: 112 112 degrees
-Valve Clearance: 0.00mm

anybody can compare this? which one is better original or mine?

It all depends where the manufacturers take the measurements from. Without kent stating the lift value the duration data comes from, its impossible to accurately compare between OEM, CAT and Kent on a like vs like basis.

Reading camshaft data requires a level of educated guessing as they never ever give you full data to answer questions.

ie kent is using a 1.7:1 rocker ratio, cat uses a 1.97 and oem uses a 1.72............go figure.
