S sideways danny Car ITB'd MK1 Apr 24, 2011 #4 vvt operates at 1600rpm. I'm going to go with your cam timing being out too. Had the cambelt done on the cheap somewhere?

Should hope there's no VVT at 5k! The timing procedure is very specific with the F4R. Many garages arent aware of this, hence cam timing being a very common problem.
