Clio 182 36k service - £160

  Shhh
Went to AA Nationwide Autocentre in Hartlepool yesterday next to halfords, asked them for a price on a Clio 182 2.0 16v 36k service inc Alternator belt..

He said £160, renault want £299.99

I stressed that it needs to be genuine renault parts, and he assured me that it was all renault parts.

That cant be right.?

Nationwide autocentre are a bunch of f*ckin thievin muppets in Blackburn .

I'd ask to look at the parts , i'd bet they are their own brand ( Halfrauds ) .

sounds cheap. I'd sit and watch them while they do it to make sure they dont pull a fast one :clown:

Cant say im really bothered if they do it or not. Just want the book stamping, just seems a little too cheap for renault parts.

I think a 182 service is..

Air Filter
Pollen Filter
Oil Filter
Oil
Alternator Belt

and a general check over the car.

Thats a good price but they not including the Aux belt which has to be chnaged at 36k the Renault price probablu included this belt being changed.
You can just book the car for the belt at Renault and the service anywhere else if you want just like the 72k service for me is £210 howver at 72k I also need a camblet (£250) new brakes and coolent (£100 extra). However when you right up often Renault quoite just the service not the belts etc.
Have a look here for whats done

Renault dont include the price of the aux belt when quoting their prices for the 36k service, as I have just found out!!

Just paid £208 for my 36k service, but there was no mention of the belt being changed after I picked the car up. After chasing them up they said 'oh yes we forgot to advise you it should be changed at 36k - that will be an extra £85'!!!

They have offered 20% off as a goodwill gesture for not telling me, but I'll be taking it further with the service manager.

The invoice say's carried out service to renault spec, but obviously they dont if its not included in the price.

I asked the guy multiple times about the price and if it included the 182 service and alternator belt, and on many times he said the belt was included.

Maybe give it a few more weeks then ask them again just to confirm its right. Provide me own oil to ensure its the good stuff and go from there.

Just noticed that my bonnet has a dent right where the renault mechanic push the bonnets down. He did it infront of me one time, and i advised him not too. Looks like i now have a small dent that needs taking out.

The car is on 34k. Prob needs new front tyres soon so thats £186 for the exaltos. Then new disks and pads on the front so another £150. Then the 36k service.

Nice...

my 182 just had its 36k service (£280 Harratts renault pontefract) and they 'forgot' to do the aux belt (as they dont know their products!) when i pulled them up about it they tried to charge me for it . so i made them justify the price of the service (280 instead of the usual 140 quid) so i got it done for free as a 'good will guesture' even though i feel it should have been done as part of the service!!
