Clio 182 belt change

Been asked loads before but can't find thread.

Roughly how many miles should you then have belt and aux change on a 182

I swear Ibe read a few post ages ago that they done it and there cars wasn't on 72k. But hey. It's just I'm gnna have a look at one that's done 68k so gna look at service history and see if it's had it changed recently

Most probably 5 years old.

It depends on the age of the car. Mines will be needing done next year, but it won't be anywhere near 72k, just coming up for 5 years old.

i've done a few cars that have been 20-30k. still 5 years old so needed doing

Just had my MOT today and I asked them about a 'funny' noise in the engine bay. They have said I should get my timing belt done and water pump. Just had the aux belt done at 35k. Only got 37k on now and the car is a 53 plate. So I would say it depends in what state the car is. I thought mine was in pretty good nic!!!!!

Forget the mileage on it, ages comes into play here, it's well over due. When you had the aux belt done did they/you not ask about the cambelt ?

I did but they were going on the mileage of the car, so said I shouldn't worry too much about it. Glad someone has said it is over due as was a bit worried. How much should I be paying? Been quoted £300.

I'd not use them again tbh, that's just me though. Price wise, i'm not fully sure, if that's the water pump too then it sounds good. Someone else will be along to say if it's a good price etc:)

Yes that's including the water pump. So I am happy about that.

Just got a new bloke working for them who used to work at Renault and sounds like he knows his stuff. They have always been good before, used them for years.

Looks like I will have to be getting it done then...

that's toooooooo cheap, and your cambelt is over a year overdue.

Make 100% sure they're using a full cambelt KIT, and not just a belt, and that they have the genuine renault locking tools (not copys)

Should I get it myself and get them to do it. That way I will know for sure.

Or if anyone can suggest any good places in the Newcastle area I will go there!
