Clio 182, Leaking!

Alrite guys,

Yet another fault with my 182, Ive got some leaking/dripping onto undertray on the driverside - which I believe to be my coolant (as indicated by a mechanic who changed my entire rear brakes). Never noticed an issue before but he did show me that the level was dropping when engine was running. Anyway fired in 1/2 bottle of radweld plus (my bad, i know), and some coolant. Level stayed the same for 20mins ideling on full heat but was still dripping, after taking the car out the level had dropped by about 5mm in the reservoir. Only thing is the liquid is yellowy/green so don't know if this would be coolant?

Not happy as Ive just replaced rear calipers/bearings/discs and pads, as the garage who done the discs and pads in march never pulled a fault with calipers, so they got totally scortched/ bound, already replaced timing/dephaser/acc belts, and a dodgey ballast - all in under a year of owning the car, so effectively had to spend 1/2 the cost of what I bought i for, on repairs. Are these cars worth fixing? no trust in renault atm - could be my first and last

Rad weld ouch. should never be used imo.
Proberly water pump leaking.

Yep most likely waterpump! Good thing is it is run off the aux belt so not a major sum of money to put it right

aye dropped it off at rentec earlier, leaking waterpump, awaiting quote, these expensive to replace?

The pump itself is only £35ish its the labour that costs if you cant do it yourself,make sure they flush all the radweld out though

someone was telling me just the other day that the water pumps rarely fail on these!!

nothing overly hard about changing these, but the pump is slightly burried in the ancillaries,
but for a specialist it shouldnt take too much time at all!

Not a sport but... Ive had 2 water pumps now They seem to be prone to fail i've heard they have plastic impellers so they just give up from wear and tear

When mine went it made a knackerd dephaser noise and never leaked, personally i would make sure they change the aux belt kit for the sake of a few quid more. And give it a bloody good flush through.

It's normally the seals that go rather than the pump but they obviously can fail, not very common on the F4R mind. Unless it's some pattern piece a' sheet of course
