Clio 182 projector headlights

Hi All,

Was looking into replacing my standard front lights with xenon projector style ones, firstly can anyone tell me if this is a straight swap and secondly would it be possible to swap the original bulbs with a decent hid kit? If so can anyone tell me what bulb type I would need to order. Thanks

Straight swap if you have ballasts etc. Why would you want to change to a HID kit. It is already factory hid

Was looking to upgrade to the 6000 as I had them previously on my clio 1.6, but it would look alot better I'm the projector style aswell as the beam pattern not being so screwed

Just buy some 6000K D2S bulbs to replace them. Would be stupid to replace a factory xenon kit for a cheap chinese kit.

I would never buy a cheap Chinese kit I only buy off reputable companies and the cost normally shows the quality

Still, the factory kit is made by Bosch and no 'reputable' company who sells kits will come close to OEM quality.

Yes obviously. You'd be absolutely retarded to rip out the factory xenon to replace with a Chinese kit or otherwise. Get some 6k bulbs as mentioned above. Ebay bulbs i find work fine at a fraction of cost of osram etc. Not sure whether osram would be any better not tried them

Admittedly I am using some cheap bulbs, I went for 5000K as they are pure white and haven't noticed any difference in light output.

Have you ever tried any premium bulbs? the original bulbs (Philips) that came with the car rated at 4300k don't seem any better than the 6k I replaced them wth imo.

I tried some 5k, just didn't do it for me looks wise.

No, only the cheap ones off eBay. I might try some more expensive ones later in the year ready for next winter, wouldn't have a clue on which to try out.

Philips/Osram are supposed to be good. Theres a set for £80. Just don't want to fork that much out for there to be no visibility improvement.

Yeah same here, i'll do plenty of research before parting with cash I think!
