clio 182 superchip

  Golf GTD Mk7
get a remap not a superchip mate. unless modded car you'll not get much out of either though to be honest.

  Fabia vrs tdi
oh whats up with a superchip, im going to a meet in scotland for a RR day and was gonna get it done there

  Fabia vrs tdi
just will have my ktech supersports zaust and new itg panel filter, ( Da ) has got some good bhp figures from remap just with zaust and remap

you'll just get better results elsewhere, and probably for less. Though as above, wouldnt bother without supporting mods.

LOL @ people saying dont go through Superchips...Have you had any experience with them or are you just going off what others on here say?

Iv had one for three and abit years now (run with a BMC CDA) and it not only helps low down the rev range but i also see nothing less than 38mpg (upto 42) so i would highly reccomend one.

Just find some one with an RS Tuner, and pay them the license fee for a remap, half the price, and a very common upgrade for the Clios

Must drive like my nan to never get under 38mpg?

My experience with a superchip is it melted a piston as the map on it was way off.

Getting a car mapped by someone who knows what they are doing will draw extra power by finetuning the map not just banging air and fuel in it hoping for the best

hmmm, well thanks for the advice, conflicting views, superchips must give average gains

Make your own mind up but you only need to see how successfull they are (admitedly off this forum but then how many have given them a go?) to gauge how good they are!

They wouldnt be able to provide them at over £200.00 a pop if they did nothing.

LOL - Another tool with no clue!

No i dont drive like your nan at all although i drive safely in the majority of zones - Your experience was obviously a rare one as like i say mine has beem on for over three years and caused no reliability issues at all.

suppose so , i have been told rs tuner is good but where to get it done it scotland, seems like on the RR live mappin is too expensive

Its another 'must do' like Turinis on here so of course your only going to hear good things about it!

No doubt its good but it doesnt mean there arnt others out there that are just as good!

I think its Geoff182 who used to work at Superchips - Best give him a PM see what the average gains are...

you can't believe Jay that a superchip is better than a RR remap to suit mods? Have you had yours RR before and after to show the results?

^Jonny i have nothing against Turinis (i will get some myself if a set of Trophy ones come up) or RS Tuners but it pisses me off when the only good things are what everyone else tosses off on here thats all.

LOL - Another tool with no clue!

Another tool yet I justified what I said with a fact. Resorting to name calling because I questioned you, nice one.

How can someone design a map for one car thats ideal for every other? you cant.

Its like when people supply a base map with aftermarket ecu's, yes it works but it dosnt get the best from your car

How much is the superchip?

Edit, £234. According to the website, the 182 has 182 bhp. FAIL

Id buy an RSTuner, remap your car, and then sell the tuner on for about £100, resulting in a £70 odd remap.

DONE

RS tuner is a tool to allow you to upload a map yourself. Bit like superchips bluefin, but from a renault specialist

  Fabia vrs tdi
oh rs tuner sounds not bad, but how will that compliment the new exhaust not that it will make much difference

Yeh, its just a generic map, same as the superchip.

If you want a map to compliment your mods, your best of getting a live map.

Or i think henk can do specific maps for 49 euros?

I could be chatting s**t, but i think im right.

  LY 200
agree mate. did you get any before and after figures off you superchip?

I didnt mate as i purchased it with the car (with the standard airbox) however after various drives (and comparisons with other 1*2's) i know it does a job lower down the rev range and especially on the fuel economy side of things!

I must get it RR'd one day.

  Fabia vrs tdi
okay, i will buy an rs tuner i think as it seems to be popular, so just plug it into my port and its simple to choose a map, but what are the mapping options

  172 cup & 182
Had my 182 Superchiped soon after I bought it new in 2004 an it's been fine 40mpg on average. I have done lot's of trackdays and it's now on 47000 miles and going fine.
