Clio 182 went a bit mad last night ?

Hi all. My friend took my car for a drive last night. He was going really fast. He was using the gears to slow down quicker and then slammed the brakes on and the car just sat on the limiter for no reason at all. But the cruise control red light was on when it happend. Turned it off and back on again and it was fine again. Hasn't happened again since. I would be very grateful for any feed back.

Throttle pedal stuck down on the mat possibly?

Iv'e had that happen a couple of times.

Yea that could be it anything I can do to check it or fix it or not to worry about it
